When our spaces feel uninspiring, it’s easy to assume the remedy is to buy new stuff. That’s where Second Story steps in! Together we optimize the layout and styling of your current belongings first. Then if you still need additional furnishings or decorative elements, we’re plugging them into your best dressed space!

For the times when you need a lamp, a wall hanging, a throw pillow or other decorative pops, I’m delighted to offer my secondhand collection of housewares and small furnishings. Of course, sometimes brand new items are needed to complete the space, and I offer online research for those. But after a Second Story use-what-you-have redesign, most clients are shocked to discover they no longer feel the itch or need to buy new things!

The services I provide to help you redesign and maximize the rooms in your home: 

⁕ an entire room re-do: new arrangement and styling of your furnishings, decorations, lighting, and art work

⁕ investigating spaces that just aren’t working but you don’t know why

⁕ exploring how and why (or why not) certain rooms are being used

⁕ figuring out where to hang wall art, including creating sophisticated groupings

⁕ styling smaller areas like bookshelves, mantels, and other decorative nooks


Hourly rate: $100*


*In an effort to reduce my business carbon footprint, I primarily work in Jamaica Plain, Roslindale, West Roxbury, Roxbury, and Brookline. If you live in Cambridge, Somerville, Newton, or other Boston neighborhoods, I charge for a portion of my travel time.
